Daproim Africa CEO Caroline Wanjiku shared the values and strategies that keep the company successful on multiple levels, and what the company does that has earned it a place on the 2017 Best for the World: Changemakers list.

Our values guide everything we do as an organization. They inform both our long-term strategy as a firm and the way we serve our clients on a daily basis. Strengthening staff and organizational performance is key to our work. This involves reviewing and analyzing data to identify areas of strength and weakness, gathering input from employees, and using the analysis to set targets and identify improvement actions.

At the same time, we are growing the talent pool needed by our markets, our clients and our own business. We strive to reduce costs and become more efficient: By taking advantage of new technologies to help reduce the cost of business operations and increase flexibility, and using strategies that exploit new technologies help us manage changing conditions while gaining greater efficiencies.

To improve the skills of our workforce, we train both new and existing employees to improve productivity, quality and output, customer satisfaction, and employee job satisfaction.

We seek to reduce waste and improve quality by maintaining a safe and clean environment to help create and maintain conditions that minimize all adverse environmental impacts, which include waste and resource consumption reduction, and pollution prevention.

And, we are always trying to respond more quickly to innovations; to set the pace, and keep abreast of industry and market trends in order to respond to change quickly, and help our team navigate through these transitions. We stay updated by reading professional journals, attending events, conferences, workshops and increased research.

Certifying as a B Corp and earning Best for the World improves our client’s confidence in our business. It provides us the ability to meet clients’ requests for certified professionals to work on their projects. Our clients and customers are more confident and secure knowing that they are in certified hands. Networking and introductions that can lead to relationship-building with prospective customers have also been fostered by the B Corp certification.
